The New Academic Building of The Cooper Union is located at 41 Cooper Square in New York City. It is a two minute walk from the Astor Place subway stop on the 6 train and the 8th Street stop on the N or R trains. The New Academic Building, designed by Thomas Mayne, was teh first academic structure in New York City to receive a Platinum LEED energy efficiency rating. Its nine floors house classrooms, labs, studios, and faculty offices. The Rose Auditorium is located on Lower Level 1 of this building.
